How do you split a Whatnot show with a co-host?

Whatnot pays every dollar to the host, never the co-host. The split is a cost you record by hand, not a smaller gross, so the numbers stay honest.

How do you split a Whatnot show with a co-host?

A Whatnot co-host is a second seller who joins your show with their own camera and sound, so the two of you appear on screen together; only the host who started the show controls it, and only the host's account ever touches the money. Whatnot's own guide, re-read 23 September 2026, states the earnings mechanic plainly: "The host receives all earnings for the show, no matter who ships the orders," and "If you and your co-host plan to split earnings, the host can distribute funds once payout is complete." There is no in-app split. If two sellers want to divide a night's money, the host pays the co-host afterward, by whatever means the two of them agree, and that payment never appears anywhere in Whatnot's own records.

Does Whatnot split earnings automatically between a host and co-host?

No. Whatnot's own guide to co-hosting is direct about it: the host receives all earnings for the show, no matter who ships the orders, and if the host and co-host plan to split earnings, the host distributes funds once payout is complete. There is no platform feature that routes a share of a sale to a co-host's own account; every dollar lands on the host's balance first.

What a co-host can do, and what stays with the host

Whatnot draws the line the same way throughout the article. A co-host can join with video and sound, interact with viewers and chat, help present items, have their items sold through the host's own listings, and reach the host's audience. A co-host cannot start or end the show, list or sell from their own Shop, access the host's Seller Hub, print shipping labels, or receive earnings and payouts directly. Order fulfillment, generating labels, handling support requests and starting payouts all stay with the host, and if a co-host's item sells, the host exports and emails that label rather than the co-host pulling it themselves; every label, including the return address, is the host's. Whatnot also caps a show at one co-host at a time.

Can a co-host access Seller Hub or print shipping labels?

No. A co-host can join with their own camera, present items and chat with viewers, but Whatnot's article lists what they cannot do just as plainly: start or end the show, list or sell from their own Shop, access the host's Seller Hub, print shipping labels, or receive earnings and payouts directly. If a co-host's items sell through the host's listings, the host generates and shares the labels, and every label carries the host's own return address.

What happens when a co-host sells an item during the show?

It has to be the host's listing. A co-host cannot list or sell from their own Shop; if they have items to sell, the host lists them before or during the show, and the sale reports like any other item the host sold. Whatever the co-host paid for it is a cost the host needs to track like any other lot.

Booking the split so the period tells the truth

In BreakCount, a co-host's cut is an other cost, entered by hand with the date of the show it belongs to. It comes off net profit for the PERIOD that date falls in, not off that one show's own verdict, because the import only ever sees what Whatnot reports, and Whatnot books a co-hosted show entirely to the host: the gross, the fees and the lot cost on that show look exactly like a solo night. Recording the split as an other cost is what keeps the week or month underneath it honest, the same way promotion spend is entered as an other cost rather than invented as a per-show deduction Whatnot never actually itemizes that way.

That leaves one thing a co-host arrangement adds on top of a normal show: reconciling the payout has to account for money leaving the host's balance twice, once to Whatnot's own fees and once to the co-host, before either seller sees their real share. If you are the co-host rather than the host, when Whatnot sellers get paid does not apply to you directly at all: your payout date is whatever the host agrees to, not Whatnot's processing clock, because you were never in Whatnot's payout chain to begin with.

Does paying a co-host change the gross or fees BreakCount imports?

No, and that is deliberate. BreakCount imports exactly what the Weekly Order Report says, and Whatnot books a co-hosted show entirely to the host, so the show's gross, fees and lot cost look identical to a solo show. The split you owe your co-host is a cost you add by hand, and it comes off net profit for the period it happened in rather than off that one show's own verdict, the same way a boost spend does.

Track the show your account actually received

Import the Weekly Order Report as the host normally would, add the co-host's cut as an other cost dated to the show, and the period underneath it nets correctly even though Whatnot never recorded the split at all. How to track your profit on Whatnot is the wider picture this fits into.
